I am a profesor at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Medellín. I have been working with S. frugiperda for 16 years. My research is about the molecular and genetic differentiation of the corn and rice strains of S. frugiperda, the study of the reproductive isolation between them, the resistance of the corn strain to Bt and of the rice strain to insectides, the analysis of volatile components produced by their females, the wing morphometrics and at the momment the microbiota associated to both strains. My research has been supported by other reserachers at my University since I am a evolutionary biologist. My PhD is from the UK
