As an entomologist my focus now is mainly on sustainable pest management strategies. This includes (i) biological control of agriculture pests with entomopathogens and parasitoids, (ii) insects’ ecology and (iii) insecticide resistance prevention, assessment and management through IPM strategies. I am currently coordinating research and development activities in CABI for Invasive Species (IS) management in West Africa, especially Ghana and Burkina Faso, with emphasis on the fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda and the tomato leaf miner, Tuta absoluta. We are working mainly to identify and deploy efficient natural enemies. Our work now is on field assessment of Telenomus remus in FAW management; development of efficient rearing methods for other naturally occurring parasitoids and predators. All these are to promote them in order to provide satisfactory and sustainable solutions against these IS and contribute to food security and livelihoods of millions of farmers across West Africa

From Brazilian publications we know that Telenomus remus can be reared in the factitious host Corcyra cephalonica. But did somebody confirm the acceptance of C. cephalonica by T. remus as alternative host in Africa or Asia? Is there any advance in T. remus rearing on other stored product moth’s eggs in Africa/Asia?
