    Describe your research

Xavier Chiriboga Morales is an Ecuadorian researcher, working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the International Center of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe). His research interests are: insect-plant, insect-insect and insect-natural enemy interactions, chemical ecology, behavioral ecology and habitat management for the ecological management of insect pests. Xavier studies host-plant resistance in the maize-fall armyworm (FAW) system, FAW larvae feeding behavior and FAW female adult oviposition behavior. He also investigates the chemical ecology of plants' attractiveness/repellency to insects and plant volatiles induced by insect herbivory. Besides that, he investigates the ecology of insect pests and natural enemies in the agro-ecosystem and in semi-field conditions as well.
