The most efficient bacteria on fall armyworm is Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki or B.t.aizawai. Application timing is the crucial point to get successful control.
The sensitive instars are the first, second and third larvae.

Bacteria can be used for managing fall army worm .There are instances wherein it has given good control of pests like diamondback moth, but on the other side the first report of resistance to Bt was also reported in DBM. hence, one has to be cautious

Endotoxins from Bacillus thuringiensis are effective against FAW. Especially, Cry1Ac and Cry1F toxin. GMO such as Bt-Maize expressing Cry1F and Cry1Ac expressing Cotton are efficacious against FAW. However, FAW is evolving resistance to Cry toxins (you can see many reports from Brazil). Alternatively, bacteria associated with EPN’s might be the next best source for Insect control.
